thanks for the sample and for reporting. this was indeed broken. i
think what happened is that the gaussian blur interface changed subtly
and the defringe module wasn't updated to reflect the changes. i think
i fixed it in git master (see 0731c5d ). at least the image i get with
2.0.7 is now in line with what i get out of master.

(your history stack was quite full and slow btw! don't think i usually
push dt this far..)
