Regarding question 2, I hope to see gdc appear in just about any
package repository that has gcc. It seems many package
repositories (like mingw64) don't include it by default. And
since it now takes a D compiler to make a D compiler, getting
into the build tree system to start with is going to be a hurdle.
Maybe someone who has dealt with other distributions such as
Debian can chime in with advice on how to approach this problem
with the mingw crowd.
