On the TV here tonight, the Italian correspondents in the USA - who have been, until now, megaphones for Bush - were strangely subdued. One of them said that CNN is actually becoming a force against the war, saying that over the past 3 days it has given great emphasis to the failure of the US military's strategy in Iraq and also to the families of POWs and casualties who are blaming Bush. I don't know whether that analysis corresponds to reality (we don't have CNN here), maybe the megaphones are changing tune for tactical reasons. But it seems to me, watching these guys tonight, that the wall of Global Corporate Media has cracked - thanks to places like indymedia and the huge avalanche of alternatuve information that is circulating, whether its emails, web sites, demonstrations, Al Jazeera. Keep up the good work, everyone!

Give it a rest. This fucking war has only been going on for six days, and already the appeasers (Saddam lovers like the Frogs) have it lost. They think every little stinking firefight is a "big deal". Don't you people read any military history--American Revolution, Civil War, WWII, Korea, etc.? What did you expect? That Rummy would wave a magic wand and the whole thing would be over in 24 hours? Jeez, in other wars single BATTLES have lasted longer than that! Get a grip, peaceniks!

Watching tonights military briefing and the jounrnalists questions they all seemed very pissed off with the US briefings carrying on about how it's nothing more than lies and a couple plane camera bomb shots etc "oh we hit this tank here, see how accurate we are, look at the pretty colours!!"
While the journos were 'well what about the ones that miss' & 'we want more than just pretty pictures' etc etc
That sort of sentiment...
The US is losing the propaganda war and the journos in qatar are getting the shits cos they know they aint getting jack shit worth reporting

Yea, a quick and easy "whupping"--that's what Warlord Rumpsy and his "Woeful-wits" gang had been telling the White House tsetse fly all along, that:
1. The people of Iraq are ready to dump Saddam the moment the USA Wehrmacht shows up in force, especially in the Shiite southern cities like Basra.
2A. The "precision Surgical Strikes" by the US Luftwaffe will kill off the top echelons of Iraqi leadership, and the regime will quickly collapse, or
2B. The "shock & awe" of Luftwaffe's 10,000 carpet bombing sorties(so far) will create mass surrenders by the Iraqi army.
3. We will "discover" many sites of Saddam's chemical & bio weapons factories, and that will instantly win world opinion over to the wisdom of USA's invasion.
4. Once the USA Wehrmacht wins some "victories," the war protestors will quickly retreat and everyone will soon forget about our vicious killings of innocent civilians, or our real motivation of Oil Grab.
