Truth is stranger than fiction... Our workplace was a stop on the 1996 Summer Olympics torch relay route (Our company was providing communications support for the relay). One of the conditions that the main sponsor of the event required at a stop was that no displays of other company's products or logo's could be visibile around the area where the festivities where taking place. Just their's. Since they had paid the most sponsorship money, they wouldn't even let us have any of our Company's logos visible (They did allow us to put a tiny version of our company's logo on the sleeve of the t-shirts that were handed out, their logo was plastered on the front and the back). The sponsor: Coca-Cola. We had to temporarily replace some of our vending machines that had Pepsi logos on them. One of our employees wore a Pepsi shirt that day in protest. Good for him ! Evidently the Coke people were smart enough not to make a big stink. Olympic ideals, my foot. -- Neil Johnson http://www.njohnsn.com PGP key available on request.
