National Gathering For A Nuclear Free Future

from the newswire

Australia is currently plagued by an expansionist nuclear industry: including Ranger, Roxby-Downs, Beverley uranium mines and soon- Honeymoon. A new nuclear reactor is being built along with a dump to take it's waste. Uranium is poisioning our land and people, fuelling nuclear weapons and reactors and killing thousands of Iraqi, Afghani, Kosovo civilians in the form of depleted uranium.

In July, indigenous people affected by the nuclear cycle and anti-nuclear activists will be coming together for a national gathering. They will be there to reclaim their land, heritage, health and future! This is a rare opportunity for everybody to get together: indigenous people affected by the nuclear cycle and everybody else from around Australia who is passionate about this issue and wants to see change.

NATIONAL GATHERING FOR A NUCLEAR FREE FUTURE
14th JULY-18nd JULY 2003

Uncle Ron, elder of the Adnyamathnya people (Beverly and Honeymoon mines are on their land) says: "WE NEED MORE GREENIES UP HERE!"
