The Supreme Court considered Monday how far the government can go to make a
delusional dentist well enough to stand trial for health fraud charges.
Dr. Charles Sell sees imaginary leopards, believes the FBI (news - web
sites) is trying to kill him and wants to go into combat. He is locked up
in a psychiatric unit while the Supreme Court decides if the 53-year-old
can be forced to take anti-psychotic drugs.
Justices seemed conflicted with the question before them: How to balance
the government's interest in punishing nonviolent crime with a person's
constitutional right to control his or her body?

drawn up with the police to increase medication levels 3/4 times and make
you travel to a strange clinic to have blood taken as a test that you are
taking these soporific medicines.When you refuse treatment on the grounds
that this appears to smack of Soviet era psychiatry and you have been
stable for 20 odd years,you are sworn at and committed and barely escape
from forced incarceration.No oversight body so far agrees with you that
there has been a breach of privacy,a breach of natural justice,a breach of
due process and an abuse of your human and civil rights.Without
consultation or reasons given you now find yourself diagnosed 'paranoid.'
