The "polls" done by these news sites are not designed to gain an accurate, statistically valid measure of opinion, rather they are designed as "user participation" devices to get involvement by the user with the web site. Like Rush Limbaugh or Donahue, the networks magnify controversy to gain interest. Probably the same group that watches professional wrestling, thrives on this kind of rabble rousing. No one takes them seriously. They are about building readership and money, not learning and conveying the truth. ~~
