I just saw the first show last friday and he seems to be even more determined to fight against the conservative tide that has griped US.
He was shuffled around the network channels for a while (I remember seing him on Comedy Central imitating a monkey once!) but finally it seems that he found a new home at HBO.
Well, at least give us the times and schedule. Give us a web site address.
Come on. This is too short for an article. Give us some useful details.
I always thought Bill Maher WAS a conservative, at least economically.
He is liberal on the cultural issues. But I think he is as convervative as most Republicans on finance and capitalism.
So how is he combatting the war fervour? Or is he?
I have heard Bill Maher outcovervative Bush on a number of issues.
Isnt it true that his main criticism of Bush is that he is not asking us to sacrifice enough for the war on terrorism? That hardly seems like a liberal position to me. Is he even opposing the war?
Remember his show, POLITICALLY INCORRECT? I think his purpose on that show was to espouse CONSERVATIVE views, or views which were opposed to the so called politically correct views of liberals. I recall he said the 9-11 suicide attackers were not cowards. AND FOR THAT HE LOST HIS JOB. He was simply stating a fairly obvious fact.
If he was really so radical, he could have invited some radical guests on. I think he had Michael Moore on once. Most of the time he had conservatives on, with a few liberals, who would make jokes about sex. Very little serious politics, as I recall.
Is his new show any different?

Hang on a minute,it looks like the bushboys are up to their old tricks,(search Mother Jones for bushboys)and are gutting the economy to line their corrupt cronies pockets.A real fiscal conservative would be politically cutting them to ribbons,(like Perot did with his debt truck to Bush Daddy.)My enemies enemy is (sometimes) my friend.I would agree that the lunar right took over the corporate airwaves but disagree if you thought more regulation or statism was the answer. The state can be attacked from the right and the left, the underground and from space,as long as it is attacked unrelentingly till dead.BEAT STATE!
