The past two weeks have seen a consistent, international effort to halt the
U.S. war on Iraq. This past weekend, tens of thousands of people joined
separate marches in 25 cities in Canada. In the UK, peace activists managed
to board a nuclear submarine and surrender themselves as part of a
disarmament campaign. Other UK activists are targetting embassies to
highlight the connection between the U.S.-led war and the international
crackdown on dissent. On November 16, they held a mock wedding for George W
Bush and Lee Raymond, CEO of Exxon Mobil, known around the world as 'Esso'
petrol, at the US embassy. A student walk-out is expected in the United
States on Wednesday, November 20.
