I sympathise a bit with people who don't really want to post, but who
are frustrated by the sometimes low S/N. I, for instance, have an
interest in the technical and social aspects of crypto, but often feel
I don't have much to contribute to the discussion. Little of my
on-the-job work has involved implementing crypto in software products,
and I've done essentially nothing on the political or social fronts.
Heck, if it weren't for my probably oversized sense of self-worth, I'd
have trouble working up the nerve to post on a crypto list with people
who do this for a living.
On the other hand, since I contribute little if anything to the signal
here, I don't complain about the noise.
