I will say that the police can certainly demand whatever they want, just
as you or I can, regardless of whether or not the demand is legal, and
they will often get it (unlike the typical results for you or I, in my
experience!).
[Mark] Actually, I am from Romania, Eastern Europe, a socialist country, so
I'm quite aware of what the police will do... <g> I was just curious if "I
have a contract not to reveal his name" can be used as a legal defense.
