The criminal trial of a former Google engineer accused of stealing
artificial intelligence trade secrets will be delayed three months given
the potential for a US government shutdown. US District Judge Vince
Chhabria in San Francisco advanced the start of Linwei Ding’s trial from
Oct. 10 to Jan. 12. “This seems very much like a situation where the
government shutdown is not going to be avoided,” Chhabria said.
