Every day something more outrageous happens, and none of it should be
normalized. When a U.S. President transgresses the laws and principles of
the Constitution, it's not a derangement syndrome to object to that. It's a
derangement syndrome not to.

This is going to be a long haul, and obviously we have to manage our
nervous systems so we don't fall apart. But we can't afford to take our eye
off the ball, either. As a friend said to me the other day, "It appears
that the most cynical analysis is the one most likely to be true." And I
agree with him.

We have everything we need to stand up to this insanity, to meet the
moment, to save our democracy. We don't have to have every detail worked
out yet of how we're going to do it; right now we just need to cultivate
the conviction that we will. Every day, do something. A post you post. An
article or book that helps you understand. An attendance at a Town Hall, a
call to your legislators, whatever it is. Just do it.

No matter what, don't give up. Hold the line. Keep going. Be strong. Be
loud. Be brave.
