A New York federal magistrate judge granted Google's request Monday for
sanctions against Ramey LLP for filing an allegedly "baseless" suit on
behalf of EscapeX IP accusing YouTube of infringing its social media
chat-function patent, finding that counsel failed to conduct a presuit
investigation and needlessly drew out litigation.
