For starters, read http://cygwin.com/problems.html and follow the advice there; we need more information to help resolve this. I'm assuming that the previous command you're trying to repeat worked the first time with no such syntax error... I can't reproduce this problem on my system (1.7/XP SP3). -- Mark J.
