I'm aware of that. And I exited out of my cygwin window (the only thing I had running, since I run no Cygwin services) and went back in after making the edit. However, considering that I could already see /usr/bin before I made the change, and my bash prompt was still screwed up, I don't think that was the problem, somehow.
