GNU libtool is a generic library support script. Libtool hides the complexity of using shared libraries behind a consistent, portable interface.
This is a refresh of the previous libtool-2.2.2-2 package, AND represents the long-awaited "stable" release of libtool-2.2 for cygwin, obsoleting libtool-1.5.27a and previous. MAINTAINERS: note that the new runtime library version is libltdl7, not libltdl3. Please update your package's requires: if you rebuild using this version of libtool, and your package relies on ltdl. Changes since libtool-2.2.2-2 ================================= o routine update from 2.2.2 to 2.2.6a + includes fixes for several cygwin-specific issues = _setmode warning http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-04/msg00437.html = string length greater than ISO C99 compilers are required to support http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-04/msg00634.html = realpath warning http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-04/msg00657.html + some other internal improvements = wrapper executable now invokes "real" executable directly, without "emitting" a shell script, invoking THAT, which THEN invokes the real executable. = libltdl now contains support for cygwin-1.7 long paths o now brought out of 'test' to 'curr' status o Still includes patches from Yaakov Selkowitz http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2008-04/msg00378.html o Includes a fix for -dlpreopen when --disable-static Test results -- old tests: All 115 tests passed Test results -- new tests: ERROR: 69 tests were run, 5 failed (3 expected failures). 5 tests were skipped. Failed tests were: 25: Link order of deplibs. FAILED (link-order2.at:129) 73: Run tests with low max_cmd_len FAILED (cmdline_wrap.at:43) Which is not a regression. -- Chuck ==================================================================== To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page.
