tschutter is a domain user. So from a ssh cygwin shell: $ net use '\\other\f$' MyPassword '/user:FLOODDATA\tschutter' The command completed successfully. So I would suggest that the FAQ entry about shares at http://cygwin.com/faq/faq-nochunks.html#faq.using.shares should be expanded.
