I forget the gory details, but I do remember that there was gore. I tried many permutations of Bash arguments, shell script commands, etc., and the above is what worked on my particular installation of Cygwin then (2006/09/14) and what still works on my particular installation of Cygwin today (last updated 2007-05-25). There may be other ways to get it to work; YMMV.
