Don't be so quick to stop a postinstall script. Several minutes is not
too long to wait for some packages. Several hours is probably too long
but anything less than that is a possibility for some packages (sorry I
don't recall which can be in the more time-consuming category). But I
did notice you have miktex installed as well. It's possible there is
some interaction here. If reinstalling and waiting doesn't help, you
might consider removing miktex and trying again.
