Now that you mention it, I guess I could release an updated version of coreutils where cat uses this gnulib fix to work around the issue in 1.5.24, rather than requiring uses to upgrade to snapshots. But that only fixes cat. The problem is that since the bug is in newlib, the choice is either hacking every app that deals with stdin, or just updating cygwin. - -- Don't work too hard, make some time for fun as well!
