Which by my reading of POSIX is a bug in bash; POSIX requires cd to implicitly consider . after exhausting CDPATH. But to date, my pleas upstream to get this fixed have fallen on deaf ears. So in the meantime, I always make sure that my CDPATH ends in a colon. - -- Life is short - so eat dessert first!
