When I use pdksh to expand the name of a file with spaces or other shell metachars in it, the filename is expanded without escaping the metacharacters.
On cygwin: $ echo $KSH_VERSION @(#)PD KSH v5.2.14 99/07/13.2 $ touch 'now & later' $ ls now # hit [Tab] $ ls now & later On NetBSD: $ echo $KSH_VERSION @(#)PD KSH v5.2.14 99/07/13.2 $ touch 'now & later' $ ls now # hit [Tab] $ ls now\ \&\ later The pdksh version strings are identical.
