In the past I've done this with something like: find /bin -name \*.exe -type f | (while read FN; do cygcheck $FN | \ grep -qi cygwin1.dll || echo "$FN: no cygwin1.dll"; done) But this will only report strace and cygcheck (and some stuff in glui-examples), it will not detect tclsh84 which does link to cygwin1.dll: Found: C:\cygwin\bin\tclsh84.exe C:/cygwin/bin/tclsh84.exe C:\WINXP\System32\KERNEL32.dll C:\WINXP\System32\ntdll.dll C:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll C:\WINXP\System32\ADVAPI32.DLL C:\WINXP\System32\RPCRT4.dll C:\cygwin\bin\tcl84.dll C:\WINXP\System32\USER32.dll C:\WINXP\System32\GDI32.dll So, I'm not sure if this would be of any use. It might be best just to mention a list of known files that must not be mounted cygexec in the FAQ -- currently just tclsh84.
