Thanks, that makes sense. Do you know if Windows provides any way to find out who the culprit is? Who has the file open?
I have a Symantec anti-virus. I'm not sure if I know about every time it's doing its thing. It might be, but it would be strange for it to fail every time. I'm not running WinCVS, or anything else that knows about those directories (in fact, CVS just created the directories). I don't have an Explorer open to those directories.
