I re-ran them. Incidentally, all those sh files had permission 000; interestingly, I was still able to execute them. I had expected to get error messages "can not execute...". I'm not installing the new file post-texmf.sh: lstat(./kpsewhich) failed ... ./kpsewhich: No such file or directory lstat(./kpsewhich) failed ... ./kpsewhich: No such file or directory lstat(./kpsewhich) failed ... ./kpsewhich: No such file or directory mktexlsr: Updating /usr/share/texmf/ls-R... mktexlsr: /var/cache/fonts/ls-R: no write permission.
