I think we should start by simply enabling its output in gcc 3.4.x via -gdwarf-2. It appears that Gerrit included my patches to do this in the current 3.4.1 experimental release (Thanks, Gerrit.). Then, we can test and determine if it should be the default debugging output instead of stabs. This decision should be entirely independent of the DWARF 2 vs. sjlj EH one, which I have no opinion or expertise with.
