Given the number of times I've mentioned the fact that we need coreutils with no response, I think it is safe to assume that it is still unmaintained. Unless there are objections in the next several hours this package is yours. FWIW, I think that fixing unlink so that it can remove these kinds of files makes more sense than patching coreutils.
