Cygwin needed a couple of patches which are annoyingly Windows and Cygwin specific. I'm not prepared to use a newer version of cron right now for several reasons. Perhaps I can look into making a cron updated in a couple of weeks. However, if somebody is interested in taking over Cygwin cron maintainership, feel free!
