I submitted just such a patch in <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> at http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2004-02/msg01167.html Unfortunately, it was right before fileutils became part of coreutils. Perhaps the new coreutils maintainer might take a look?
