Arnold,

Depends on what you mean by "transfer of data from PC format to Unix".  If
you mean translating the newlines, then Cygwin has plenty of solutions,
e.g., d2u (in the cygutils package).  If you mean transferring the data
from a PC to a Unix machine, the solutions range from scp (secure) to
rsync (mirroring) to combinations of Windows and Cygwin programs and
drivers (e.g., SMB shares).  Otherwise you'll have to clarify the problem.
