On windows, my user name is 'Cliff Stanford' with the space. I was seeing these hangs until I put in a symlink for my home directory and added a line to /etc/passwd with a user of "cliff" rather than "Cliff Stanford" pointing to "/home/cliff" rather than "/home/Cliff Stanford".
I'm not saying the change made the problem go away, just that it went away and around the same time as I made the change.
