I've rebuilt an older version of flex and replaced a newer version on sources.redhat.com. There were too many incompatibilities between the standard "lex/flex" and the previously offered 2.5.31 version. Since 2.5.31 was not a strict replacement for 2.5.4, it has been removed.
2.5.4a contains some fixes from Debian, including internationalization. The changelog is included below. I'm not entirely sure what will happen when you try to update to this older version. Hopefully setup.exe will do the right thing. If it doesn't I'll tweak things in the release directory. This is YA package which I would be happy not to support.
