As to the CYGWIN environment var: I tried a simple 'Hello world' program on console and it worked as expected and put its output on console as expected and requested. As for the tests I run: see list > OK, please clarify which tests you ran from within XFree and which were > run from bash outside of XFree. Also, did you try from rxvt outside of > XFree? What's the value of your CYGWIN environment variable?
