I'm still detecting a certain wistful quality in your email when you mention linux, Randall. That just won't fly. It gives people the wrong idea. It could easily make readers feel like maybe they should investigate this "linux" thing. And, if everyone moved to linux, where would cygwin be? As much as I don't like to promote cygwin, since I'm both a crappy maintainer *and* a developer, I still don't want to see someone else using a another OS. As you know, I am just that mean and petty. Also, since cygwin is a secret government project, it may even be illegal. Now, what's the opposite of a gold star? Hmm... Btw, I, of course, use linux because I have to since I work for Red Hat.
