Hi all I know this is a common problem and has been answered many times. After going thro many posts and innumerable helps/answers by Corinna I still seems to get stuck in the same problem.
In my win2000 server (standalone, not a domain) I created a user postgres and password postgres within administrator group, did mkpasswd -l</etc/passwd and mkgroup from cygwin, also did the "Act as part of the operating system" "Replace process level token" "Increase quotas" for both administrator and postgres user rights, changed the gid in passwd file but no help. The login incorrect message is still there for postgres user. My system name is bobby drives are FAT (so no ntsec) and passwd file is pasted below: SYSTEM:*:18:544:,S-1-5-18:: Administrators:*:544:544:,S-1-5-32-544:: Administrator:500:544:U-BOBBY\Administrator,S-1-5-21-2052111302-1580436667-1 957994488-500:/home/Administrator:/bin/bash bobby:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:1003:547:bobby,U-BOBBY\bobby,S-1-5-21-2052111302- 1580436667-1957994488-1003:/home/bobby:/bin/bash Guest:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:501:513:U-BOBBY\Guest,S-1-5-21-2052111302-1580436 667-1957994488-501:/home/Guest:/bin/bash IUSR_BOBBY:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:1001:513:Internet Guest Account,U-BOBBY\IUSR_BOBBY,S-1-5-21-2052111302-1580436667-1957994488-1001:/h ome/IUSR_BOBBY:/bin/bash IWAM_BOBBY:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:1002:513:Launch IIS Process Account,U-BOBBY\IWAM_BOBBY,S-1-5-21-2052111302-1580436667-1957994488-1002:/h ome/IWAM_BOBBY:/bin/bash postgres:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:1004:547:postgres,U-BOBBY\postgres,S-1-5-21-20 52111302-1580436667-1957994488-1004:/home/postgres:/bin/bash TsInternetUser:unused_by_nt/2000/xp:1000:513:TsInternetUser,U-BOBBY\TsIntern etUser,S-1-5-21-2052111302-1580436667-1957994488-1000:/home/TsInternetUser:/ bin/bash where did I miss the bus? any help will be appreciated. bobby -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Bug reporting: http://cygwin.com/bugs.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
