A new release of setup.exe is imminent. There are many changes, and to reduce problems, feedback from YOU, is needed.
The new version is available from http://www.cygwin.com/setup-snapshots/setup-2.340.2.3.exe (binary) and http://www.cygwin.com/setup-snapshots/setup-2.340.2.3.tar.bz2 (source).
Pending any regressions being discovered, this release will become the production release in ~1 weeks time.
I just tried to run it on my home XP machine, and it consistantly crashes on startup. I ran it in gdb:
(gdb) run
Starting program: /c/Download/Programming/CygWin/setup-2.340.2.3.exe
warning: LOG: 2 Starting cygwin install, version 2.340.2.3
warning: LOG: 2 Current Directory: C:\Download\Programming\CygWin
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Can you make a version available with debug symbols, or is that traceback good enough?
