The Cygwin version is pretty new. Cygwin is downloaded at 2026-01-07
using scripts at
https://github.com/xu-chiheng/Note/tree/main/Util/download/Cygwin .
You do not need to restart Windows, but you have to check that all package
installs and postinstall scripts have been run successfully by setup-x86_64,
with nothing matching the following:
$ ls -d -- /etc/postinstall/[!0z][!pqrst][!_]*.*sh \
/{,usr/{,*86*/**/}}{*bin,lib}/*.{dll,exe}.new
and /var/log/setup.log{,.full} showing no errors.
It would be useful to check everything is okay and see what files, dates, and
sizes are installed:
$ ll -gG /etc/pki/{ca-trust/extracted/pem/tls-ca-bundle.pem,tls/certs/ca-
bundle.crt} /usr/bin/git /usr/bin/cygwin1.dll
# cygcheck -f /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt
ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.304-1
# cygcheck -c ca-certificates cygwin git curl
