The netwide assembler has been included in the Cygwin net distribution. nasm is the famous, portable Netwide Assembler for the 80x86. Many many developers all over the net respect NASM for what it is - a widespread (thus netwide), portable (thus netwide!), very flexible and mature assembler tool with support for many output formats (thus netwide!!).
You can find more information in /usr/doc/Cygwin/nasm-0.98.35.README. INSTALLATION: To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Save it and run setup, answer the questions and pick up 'nasm' from the 'Devel' category.
