Thanks for reporting. Exporting SHELL form /etc/profile was suppossed to add functionality, not to break anything :-/ Anyway, since base-files doesn't know if your shell is /bin/bash, or /usr/local/bin/bash or any other, I think I have to remove it from /etc/profile.
