Sten, This is caused by a bug in bash that has been fixed by the latest official patches (which have yet to be applied to the cygwin bash executable). In the meantime, remap the Ctrl-Left and Ctrl-Right sequences in your .inputrc to something harmless (e.g., "tty-status"), or, if you're more ambitious, apply the patches and recompile bash.
