I have updated syslog-ng to the latest stable release 3.2.1. The upstream package needed a few minor patches.
The package now comes with a postinstall script and an enhanced /bin/syslog-ng-config file in order to allow to change the syslog-ng file layout to be more aligned to the typical Linux layout. Note especially that there's now a directory /etc/syslog-ng which contains multiple configuration files, rather than a single config file /etc/syslog-ng.conf. The new postinstall script moves the old /etc/syslog-ng.conf file to /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf. However, please note that there are some important changes in syslog-ng which may result in problems when using an old configuration file. For more information, please refer to the online syslog-ng Admin Guide here: http://www.balabit.com/support/documentation/?product=syslog-ng Another important change was to re-libtoolize and autoreconf the source directory. This is required to successfully build all the new shared library modules for syslog-ng on Cygwin. All required patches and changes have been reported upstream. To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Then, run setup and answer all of the questions. *** CYGWIN-ANNOUNCE UNSUBSCRIBE INFO *** If you want to unsubscribe from the cygwin-announce mailing list, look at the "List-Unsubscribe: " tag in the email header of this message.
