Additional note for the last reply: even hacking
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cygnus Solutions\Cygwin\mounts v2
doesn't get me back into the earlier install of cygwin. I find the
process of where "mount" gets its mount point information from highly
mysterious.
