Larry, Since I have two versions of rsync available -- the windows one (in /cygdrive/c/WINNT/system32/ directory) and the recently-installed cygwin one (in c:\cygwin\bin dir) -- I tried to see if I had better luck with one version over another. I found no difference either way. Your suggestion below didn't work either, unfortunately. I was, however, successfully able to get rsync working using c:\WINNT\system32\rsync --daemon --configure=c:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\rsync.conf from the command line.
While I still get the 'path not found error', I found that calling a batch file that contains the above line gets rsync up and running. I think I'll consider this 'case closed'. I realize that this thread has veered off-topic. I nonetheless appreciate the assistance I've received thus far. -Brian -----Original Message----- From: Larry Hall (RFK Partners, Inc) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 1:28 PM To: Brian Warn; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: rsync question What about `c:/cygwin/bin/rsync.exe --daemon --config=c:/cygwin/usr/share/rsync.conf`; I'm not sure I understand why you're invoking it from different places with your different attempts however.
