I have attempted to install the 1.3.10 release of Cygwin a couple of times now, using both the Install from Internet and Install from Local Directory options. Everything runs smoothly through the Select Packages to Install screen. After clicking Next on that screen, the Progress dialog appears for a few seconds, then a stack fault occurs. The debug dump from Win98 is included below on the off chance it's useful in tracking this problem down.
It doesn't seem to matter which packages I choose to install, either. I've tried both the Default packages and a full install, and both result in a stack fault. I have also tried moving both setup.exe and the package files to different directories, thinking it might be a problem with too long a path name or a space in the path name leading to either setup or the packages; no luck there, either. Just yesterday, I was able to run Cygwin setup without a hitch on my Windows XP machine, but it absolutely refuses to cooperate with Windows 98. I notice from the archives that someone reported this problem around mid-February 2002, but there were no replies to that posting. Any help would be appreciated.
