Because newer xulrunner versions removed gtkmozembed which is used by a large number of depended ports. Flo and I did a test on a tinderbox with libxul 7.0 (which is already in our gecko repository) and it breaks quite some port. Unfortunately for most of these ports upstream doesn't provide a newer version which no longer depends on gtkmozembed. Patching all these ports manually is quite some work and I don't want to do this. But it looks like you are going to volunteer?
