I've seen ports committers make src commits.
Sure, but you always need an explicit approval for committing to
a repository you don't have a bit for (at least so I've been told).
It does not need to be explicit, it can also be implicit like my
approval for commits to your ports. For the benefit of the list: he
knows very well what he can do with his ports, he proved it a lot of
times before I gave him the implicit approval years ago. And as we can
see here, he is taking a lot of care what he is doing where.
