Linux and Windows users have the same problems on T43's, so
the problem might be somewhere else.
FWIW, this isn't limited to IBM notebooks, I've seen the same on Dell,
Toshiba and Compaq notebooks over the last several years. The behavior is
so commonplace over disverse hardware I've taken it to be a standard
practice, let alone a problem.
Send me one and I'll fix it.
