Back in January we got this response from the Software Freedom Conservancy:

Conservancy's Evaluation Committee really likes curl and would like us to
move forward.

Time passed and in spite of several new prope emails from me, we got no responses back until now. They now say:

the earliest we could work on bringing in a new project is September.

I'm disappointed by their silence and slowness and I consider this a not so subtle hint that the SFC is not for us. I will not push forward on this.

We already have open collective as a good way to receive donations and hold funds for us (https://opencollective.com/curl).

In the "governance" suggestion document from October 2018 [*] we proposed forming a "steering committe", a "core team", if you want so that decisions about money and "larger" issues in the project could be handled by someone more than just me but still perhaps a smaller team than the entire curl-library list, and I still think that's a good idea. I'll probably get back to this topic later this summer (as I'm just about to take off on vacation now).
