On IOS I have verified that the crash occurs on 7.28.1 if you do not set 
NOSIGNAL

Can you please try a recent version and see if the problem remains? If it
does, please help us with a full recipe on how to repeat it!

I set CURLOPT_NOSIGNAL to 1, and it has been running fine so far.
I will also try new version without enabling NOSIGNAL.
